This Christmas club, administered by the United Way, encourages families that would like help in providing Christmas for their children.  To do this, parents must (1) attend three classes on various subjects, (2) file an application and (3) then shop in the Christmas store for gifts for their children.  The hope was that churches and organizations would participate in the program rather than each go its own way, helping a child here, a family there.  Last year, 2500 children in the Dalton area were helped by this program.

There are many ways for you to support this program:

  • Financial:  mail donations to:

Sharing is Caring Christmas Club
c/o Jackie Taylor, finance chairman
405 School St.  Dalton 30720.

Make check to “Whitfield Family Connections” with Sharing is Caring Christmas Club in the “for” line.
Or give the check to Fran Lewis by the deadline below.

  • Donate new toys:  from infant to age 18.  Toys must be new and should be valued in the $20-$30 range but no bikes or large toys. For older kids: wallets, purses, watches, makeup, gift cards.  Our church is again donating $1000 in gift cards.
  • Donate new clothing.  Needed for all ages, it goes quickly.  Jeans and jackets are big hits.
  • Donate items such as blankets, batteries for toys, hygiene items which will be given away as long as they last.
  • Volunteer to man the Christmas store. (click on button below)

Please bring unwrapped gifts to church on Sunday, December 10.  These will be collected and after the service, we will load them into the Lewis’ van.  They will deliver them to the Fairgrounds later in the week.  If you are not going to be in town Dec.10 but have gifts to send, please take them to the church office by 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 8.
