Music

“Sing for joy to God our strength; Shout joyfully to the God of Jacob. Raise a song, strike the timbrel, the sweet sounding lyre with the harp.”

Psalm 81-1-2

Music maintains a vital part of the life of our congregation and community. Through the chanting of Psalms, singing of anthems, and uplifting of hymns, we profess the wonderful grace of Christ through liturgical music. Opportunities are available for people of all ages.

To learn more about our expanding music program, or to express interest in joining an ensemble, please contact our Director of Music, Hye Jeong Kwon, HERE.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is a group of semi-professional choristers who offer music for all of the services throughout the church year.

Children’s Choir

We are happy to announce that The Children’s Choir, inclusive of all ages, is coming back together and will be back on the Worship calendar soon!

Choral Scholar Program

The Choral Scholar Program is a unique scholarship opportunity for a select group of high school and college students from the larger-Dalton area. Exemplifying exceptional predicate choral skills, these students develop their existing skills through singing challenging repertoire, providing leadership to volunteer members, and furthering their knowledge of music theory and its application in a liturgical setting. The current Choral Scholars are James Hoskins, Amanda Karge, Adam Stark and Hayden Poe.

Organ

Randall Dyer Organ Specifications:

Our pipe organ was built by Randall Dyer & Associates of Jefferson City, TN, and incorporates pipes and parts from a “used” nine-rank, two manual 1967 Möller Artiste organ. Builder Dyer disassembled and removed the organ from that location for restoration and rebuilding.

The organ consists of a new console and pipe enclosure and a custom built enclosure to fit the small space we have in the balcony. The open pipes surround the circular Celtic knot window above.     Read more
