Nicole’s e-Pistle “Vacation”
June 17, 2026
Greetings, Friends!
I will keep this brief today. Many of you know I was supposed to have been on vacation this week, but plans change, and it is important to be flexible. I so appreciate everyone for their support, especially for Therese Howell and Rev. Dr. Ken McKenzie, who have been back and forth on when they would cover for me in the pulpit.
I will be preaching this Sunday, June 21st, and will lead the Session Meeting immediately following worship. Then I will be out of the office next week, partly for vacation, but also to travel with my family back to Florida to attend my Godfather’s funeral. David Pipkin was my Dad’s best friend growing up. Our families have been connected over the years with my parents vacationing with the Pipkins in their early years of marriage. The years of raising children and living in separate towns made staying connected a little more difficult, but we never failed to miss a birthday. David even served as my realtor when I bought my first home by myself (it was before I was married to Bjorn). Having someone I loved and trusted meant the world to me during my transition from renter to homeowner.
I will not likely write an e-Pistle next week with all that is going on. Bjorn and the kids and I will fly back to Atlanta on Sunday, June 28th, so Ken will preach for me that morning. I will be back in the office on Monday the 29th, and Lunch Bunch will resume its regular schedule at that time. In the meantime, if you have any pastoral care needs, please contact the church office or Dick Neely.
I love you all dearly and look forward to seeing you this Sunday before I head off for the week!
Blessings and Peace,
